For the past 10-15 years, CK has been actively involved in advisory activities, offering comprehensive guidance on business transformation, sustainability, strategic direction, operational excellence, supply chain optimisation, productisation, startup development, procurement, and operational improvement. His extensive experience has been instrumental in supporting local SMEs across diverse sectors, including F&B, IT integration, manufacturing, and product/service development, including software solutions and product distribution.
In addition to his advisory work, CK has made significant contributions to the industry as the former President of the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA), where he was pivotal in driving membership growth and setting a strong foundation for the organisation's future. He is passionate about mentoring startups and business owners, helping them develop go-to-market strategies, explore strategic growth opportunities, and transform their businesses. CK advocates for process automation, modernisation, digitisation, job redesign, and factory modernisation to keep businesses relevant in a rapidly changing landscape.
CK also serves on the Innovation Advisory/Mentorship panels of IPI and ACE respectively.
CK Tan is a veteran of the semiconductor and electronics industry, with over 25 years of experience. He began his career at AMD Singapore in technical & development role. CK has also served in key positions at Cyrix, ST Assembly, SiLabs, and UTAC where he held leadership roles in technical and manufacturing operations, supply chain management, procurement, quality assurance, business operations, business strategy, and general management. From his time at ST Assembly & UTAC, he gains deep expertise in the Outsourced Assembly and Test (OSAT) industry, as well as in regional and global factory management and business transformation. He is notably part of the founding group that established the OSAT industry in Singapore.
