IPI participated in the annual meeting of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) in San Diego, California. Held from 14 to 17 February 2016, the renowned event is a gathering of global technology transfer professionals from academia and industry, and other experts in the field of licensing and intellectual property (IP). It provided an excellent platform to network, share best practices and establish partnerships in the world of academia-industry technology transfer.
As part of IPI’s outreach to technology providers and seekers of ASEAN technologies through the AUTM network, we welcomed the opportunity to reconnect with current network partners and established links with potential partners in this year’s event. Visitors to IPI’s booth were interested in find out about TechInnovation, IPI’s premier global technology marketplace event held annually in September. The prospects of understanding technology transfer scene in Singapore and regional countries seemed enticing to many new faces the team met during the conference.
IPI also participated in the fully booked courses for Marketing Technology and Technology Valuation which allowed its team of officers to interact closely with fellow AUTM members and pick up insights from a technology provider’s angle. There were ample opportunities to share overarching needs of our local industries with our foreign counterparts and these also led to some interesting conversations.
