Driven by consumer demands for healthier, fresher and safer options, food and beverage companies are pushing the boundaries of innovation to keep a competitive edge in a rapidly changing industry. IPI, together with NUS Enterprise, co-organised the Rise of the Food Disruptors: Trends & Innovations event on 17 October 2019 to highlight some of the latest food trends and technologies in the marketplace.
Six innovative start-ups in the food space were invited to share their creative solutions in changing the food system today. Eatobe, Sophie’s Kitchen and Karana introduced how plant-based proteins can promote a sustainable consumption method; Hoow Foods described how delicious food items can be made healthy through science and technology; and ProfilePrint and SafeLight discussed about fighting food fraud.
Local Singapore plant-based food providers Nut Culture and Shirollina were also invited to showcase their appetising and healthy vegan cheese and ice cream.
More than 100 attendees from the food industry were present to hear from the start-ups and connect with them to explore collaboration opportunities.
