Like many economies, Indonesia has been gearing up for Industry 4.0 to boost competitiveness and upgrade its manufacturing capabilities. Since the launch of its “Making Indonesia Industry 4.0” roadmap in 2018, Southeast Asia’s largest economy has been actively promoting technology adoption to its manufacturing sector and collaborating with different partners to exchange information and best practices.
IPI had the opportunity to engage various Indonesian businesses and government agencies at the Digital Transformation workshop held on 18 February in Jakarta, Indonesia. Lim Ming Khai, Deputy Director of IPI shared insights and experience in working with industry to digitalise and innovate through open innovation and technology collaboration at the workshop focussed on digital transformation among the Indonesian food manufacturing conglomerates.
Organised by Enterprise Singapore’s Jakarta office and German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), with support from Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry and Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia (Bappenas), the event also featured speakers from innovative Singapore enterprises such as Arcstone and Pebbleroad. They presented additional perspectives on innovation adoption, digital transformation strategies and capability building.
