Start-ups grapple with numerous challenges and the path to success is often gruelling. For many technology start-ups, product innovation and development are particularly important components to gain a competitive advantage in the market.

As part of its efforts to engage the hardware and engineering start-ups in Singapore to enhance their product development capabilities, JTC organised an industry sharing session on 25 January 2019. Held at LaunchPad @ Jurong Innovation District, GET SOAP-D! (Smooth Out and Accelerate your Product Development), brought together partners like IPI, Flex, Avi-Tech and Mistletoe to share about start-ups’ innovation journeys and the available support to reduce some of the pain points that start-ups may face.

Lee Ya Ling, Technology Manager from IPI, shared how IPI and its open innovation platforms such as TechExpert, could connect start-ups with industry-specific technical experts for their innovation challenges. By engaging these experts, start-ups can potentially look at a shorter idea-to-market time.
