Dr Sze Tiam Lin, Senior Director of IPI, was invited to be the keynote speaker at the TNO Symposium, held on 18 April 2017 at The Meeting Point, JTC Launchpad. In his address, Dr Sze highlighted the importance of embracing technology and innovation to sustain long-term growth for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He gave an overview on how IPI actively advocates open innovation by bringing together its international and local partners, platforms and people to support enterprises in adopting new technologies.
Themed ‘Accelerating Innovation!’, the TNO Symposium featured presentation topics on the Future of Surveillance, Self-Organising Logistics and Protection against Cyber Threats. The programme also incorporated fast-paced pitches on innovative solutions to everyday industry challenges by 20 young researchers from the Netherlands. Technology areas exhibited at the event included smart logistics, intelligent surveillance, autonomous driving, Infocomm and Communication Technology (ICT) and cyber security.
The symposium was organised by TNO, the largest applied science and technology organisation from the Netherlands, in an industry partnership with IPI, JTC and the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
