Customer footwear insole startup, Intelligent Mobility (iM) Pte Ltd developed the first-of-its-kind 3D foot scanner with Nanyang Polytechnic in a partnership facilitated by IPI. The scanner shortens processing time by utilising cloud-based servers to relay information and improves accuracy by measuring the imprinted shape of the foot instead of pressure on its gel pad. To date, about 100 scanners in the market are being used by medical professionals and in commercial stores. Another 500 units are projected to be sold worldwide by the end of 2015.
