Beng-Hwee has been an avid practitioner of digital transformation in both public and private sectors across the Asia Pacific region for the past 15 years. As a transformation leader who thrives on technology innovation to accelerate value creation, Beng-Hwee seeks to achieve total customer experience through end-to-end process innovation and big data analytics. He has successfully deployed industrial 4.0 solutions in industries such as public healthcare, medical technology, agriculture technology, tertiary education and research, and information, communications and technology (ICT).
As Vice President of Operations at Becton Dickinson (BD), Beng-Hwee was responsible for driving strategic imperatives that strengthened customer engagement through innovative service differentiation. Focusing on the critical touchpoints across the customer journey, Beng-Hwee sought to inspire total customer experience by working end to end across multiple functions which included supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and compliance, shared services and information technology. Through this special effort, the region was awarded CEO Excellence Awards for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019.
Prior to joining BD, Beng-Hwee started his career with Hewlett Packard some 25 years ago. A large part of his work experience in HP and Agilent dealt with building capabilities in people, business process and technology which helped to propel the $5 billion business of HP in the Asia Pacific region. He held various responsibilities during his career with HP, ranging from enterprise, consumer and services, information technology, customer care, quality, technical service delivery and consulting. As the Chief Information Officer for HP, Beng-Hwee spent much time integrating IT with business to generate strong business outcomes as proof points to HP’s commercial customers. One such example is the role Beng-Hwee played during HP-Compaq integration where he led the successful integration of the service businesses of both companies.
Beng-Hwee hopes to make a major contribution in the medical, educational and social infrastructure of countries with a rapid aging population, as well as projects focused on expanding reach through affordable medical care and enhancing patient care experience for both patients and care givers. To this effect, he volunteers at the local hospice as well some public healthcare institutions.
