Jitesh is currently holding several professional roles, including serving as a Board Director of Simply Fresh Pvt Ltd, amongst the largest precision farming companies in India; is a Board Director and shareholder in Reboot Quotient Pte Ltd, the first mobile platform in Asia focused on talent and leadership development and mental fitness; is Strategic Advisor to Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, a leading publicly-listed steel producer; is Strategic Advisor to a mid-sized trading and manufacturing company active in textiles, timber, agricultural commodities, pharmaceutical products and furniture manufacturing; and is on the Advisory Board of a start-up focused on digital extrapolation and interpretation of financial statements.
Prior to his retirement, Jitesh’s career in Cargill spanned 33 years. His most recent role was Managing Director, Cargill Trade & Structured Finance, a highly profitable business that provides financial solutions, structuring expertise, trade finance and risk management expertise to customers. Concurrently, Jitesh was Country Manager for Cargill Singapore, where he was responsible for supporting the management and growth of all of Cargill’s businesses in Singapore.
Jitesh has held multiple global senior leadership roles in Cargill including Global Business Unit Leader for Cargill’s Iron & Steel Trading and processing business. During his leadership of the business, it was established as amongst the largest and leading iron and steel trading and processing companies in the world.
In 2006, Jitesh was appointed Chairman, Cargill India, based in Delhi, with supervisory responsibility over all of Cargill’s businesses in India, while still serving as global leader of the ferrous business. Jitesh played a pivotal role in turning around several businesses in India including Cargill’s Refined Oils processing and distribution business, Sugar Trading and Feed Ingredients businesses.
Jitesh has served on several global corporate committees in Cargill, including the Corporate Brand Reputation Committee and the Business Ethics and Compliance Committee.
In all his current and previous career roles, Jitesh provides strategic advice to companies at the Board and executive team level that includes short to mid-term strategic planning, financial planning and restructuring, business turn-around strategies, risk management, operational excellence, crisis management strategies and senior talent development and succession planning.
Jitesh is active in community service activities. He is a Trustee of the Singapore Gujarati Society and the Singapore Gujarati Hindu Endowment Trust and is a founding member of the Singapore chapter of the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO).
Jitesh graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the National University of Singapore. He is married and has two sons, aged 25 and 23.
