The webinar on Technology and Business Collaboration Opportunities in NRW and Singapore will introduce the future of smart industry solutions in both regions to local companies with smart manufacturing solutions and start-ups that are exploring new technology and business opportunities in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and Singapore. Held on 11 May 2022, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm (GMT +8), it is jointly organised by IPI Singapore and NRW.Global Business as well as ZENIT and the Enterprise Europe Network.
On one hand, NRW provides the ideal platform for the realisation of Industry 4.0 as no other region combines a similarly high population density with the existence of strong industries. 17.9 million people live in NRW and more than a third of Germany’s 50 top-selling companies are based here. The industrial heart of Europe beats in NRW. The high density of industrial and commercial enterprises represents countless customers and cooperation partners for digital technologies. The state is regarded as the leading location for the development of the Digital Economy and “Industry 4.0” or smart production.
On the other hand, Singapore is the regional powerhouse for advanced manufacturing technologies and provides an excellent hub for NRW to enter ASEAN. As a Global-Asia node for technology, innovation and enterprise, Singapore’s thriving ecosystem serves as an excellent platform in facilitating technology and business partnerships with the numerous innovation hubs in Singapore and across ASEAN. The manufacturing sector represents a significant element of Singapore’s GDP with approximately 22 % of industry share— which Singapore’s government aims to increase by 50 % in 2030 and has thus developed a step-by-step strategy.
