Colin KOO Colin leads the Science and Engineering Cluster in IPI in deep tech due diligence, technology scouting and open innovation activities. He supports enterprises in the infocomm and electronics domain seeking to grow their businesses through technology collaboration. Colin has 18 years of experience in electronics product R&D, in various industries - automotive, consumer electronics, mobile devices, and life science instrumentation; and has successfully designed and launched more than 13 products globally. He is an electronics design contributor to various granted patents. Colin has solid know-how of the full activity spectrum of electronics product R&D, from feasibility, concept, architecture, prototyping; to formal electronics circuit design, PCB layout design; to pilot/mass production release, testing/manufacturing support and component/process failure analysis. Prior to joining IPI, he was Senior R&D Manager with Thermo Fisher Scientific Singapore, responsible for leading and growing the Electronics R&D Team in hardware design and development. Eric Khoo Eric heads the Business Development at IPOS International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. Eric oversees the expansion of IPOS International into key local and global markets, providing advisory and solutions to private enterprises and governments on intellectual property (IP) creation, commercialisation and management. Prior to IPOS International, Eric led the IP and Science Solution Consulting team (Southeast Asia) at Clarivate Analytics, advising clients on their IP challenges in R&D innovation and commercialisation. He also represented the media conglomerate in high-level industry conferences and exhibitions and engaged key opinion leaders in research discovery and IP related sectors. In his time with Hewlett Packard, Eric handled IP portfolio management and technology licensing, with a focus on strategic analyses of major technology companies to identify cross-licensing opportunities, uncover patent acquisition targets and convert IP assets for sale. Eric holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from the National University of Singapore. He is also a qualified Project Management professional and a certified WSQ ACLP trainer. ***** |

Ng Kim Tean Mr Ng Kim Tean is the Executive Chairman of Nanyang Law LLC, a law corporation headquartered in Singapore and has offices in five ASEAN cities. His primary area of practice includes intellectual property law; his many years of hands-on experience have exposed him to all aspects of prosecution and management of intellectual property portfolios including patents, trademarks, registered designs and confidential information in Singapore and various foreign countries. His other key areas of practice are equity capital markets, fund management, corporate restructurings, commercial and company laws. He is a prolific speaker and he also regularly authors publications and books. Mr Ng was an independent director of a public-listed company, part-time lecturer at NTU, adjunct faculty of SMU. He is also a Fellow of the Intellectual Property Technology Consultant Registry. Mr Ng, an engineer-turned-lawyer, holds a B.Eng. (EEE), NUS and an LL.B. (Hons), London. He is also qualified as a UK Barrister, a Singapore practising lawyer and a Registered Patent Agent. |
